I was just doing a conference at the Healing Rooms in Spokane, Wa. with Cal and Michelle Pierce, their team, and a lot of hungry people who want to impact the world with the Kingdom of God. Following is a letter I received from one of the Healing Room leaders. It was encouraging to me – I hope it is for you as well.
It’s Ray Edwards from Spokane, and I just wanted to say thank you for what you brought to Spokane.
I believe the impartation you brought resulted in radical change in several people I know; I’ve seen at least half a dozen people walking in a new level of the supernatural since you spoke at the Healing Rooms. As in healings, words of knowledge, and prophetic utterances on a scale they haven’t seen before.
First-hand: I led a treasure hunt Wednesday night, and in a single hour we were led to minister to 6 different GROUPS of people. The FIRST was a group of 14-15 year old boys. They were goofing off in the Subway parking lot and we approached them. I explained we were on a treasure hunt and what that meant, and the leader of the boys, a young man named Caden, edged forward when I asked if any of them had any pain in their body that needed healing.
“Yeah, I hurt my knee playing football,” Caden said. The other boys, about 6-7 of them, began to turn away and move down the sidewalk, obviously wanting no part of this.
I asked him if it was hurting right at that moment and he said yes, so I asked about where on the 1-10 pain scale.
“About a 4 or 5,” he said.
I looked at his buddies, who had moved further away.
Remembering one of your examples, I shouted, “Guys! Come here! You’re going to want to watch this, because something amazing is about to happen.”
They came back and gathered around.
Boy did I ever feel dependent on God at that moment.
I asked Caden to show me where it hurt, and to place his hand over the spot. Then I put my hand on top of his and prayed: “Father God, thank you for making Caden a fine athlete. Injury was not part of your plan. Knee, I command you to be healed in JEsus name!” I said it quietly, not like a TV preacher, but loud enough they could all hear me.
I stood up.
“Test it out. Make it hurt.”
He looked at me for a second, then stomped his foot once. Twice.
“It’s better!” he said.
“On the 1-10 scale?” I asked.
“Zero!” he said. “It doesn’t hurt AT ALL!”
We celebrated for a moment, and he turned to his friends and told them 2 or three times he had been healed instantly.
I asked him if he knew who healed him. “Yeah, it was God.”
“That’s right,” I said. “Now do you know God, and do you know who Jesus is?”
“Yeah,” he said. “He’s a good friend of mine.”
My team and I stayed with him and his buddies for while, to make sure he was being real about Jesus and to see if we could minister to any of the other guys. Finally we said our goodbyes and we moved on, heading across the street where we felt the Lord had more treasure for us.
Here’s the funny part: unknown to us, Caden and his crew followed us. Twice while we were ministering to other people, Caden came marching up and shouted, “They fixed my knee! It’s completely healed!”
It was AMAZING!
And one more thing…
Later that night as I was driving home, I was singing an old hymn, just full of great joy over how the Lord had demonstrated his glory. In the darkness, I could see the empty lot ahead, where a couple of years ago one of Spokane’s great churches had been torn down. The lot has been empty since that time. I kept on singing…
“Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!”
At the MOMENT I sang that last line, I saw a flash of something white in the middle of the road. I slowed down, and as I did I clearly saw, standing in the middle of the road looking straight at me with its wings spread… a giant white owl.
WOW!
I don’t even know what it means, but I know it’s awesome!
So once again, thank you. You came, and heaven came with you. You’re a blessing.
This is Kevin again -
For those of you who are wondering about the meaning of the owl, we here at Bethel have had several owl stories. For us, it has to do with spiritual eyesight and discernment.
God is giving us the ability to see God’s great purposes hidden in the darkness. This really is the point of Treasure Hunting! God is giving us the eyes to see those who are surrounded by darkness, to bring them into the light of the Kingdom of God. It is time to reveal God’s glory, demonstrated in signs and wonders, healings, and prophetic insights that call out the gold and focus on the good plans and purposes He has for them!
Blessings, Kevin
