Firestarters is Blazing in Bath, England!

Hi Kevin – I just wanted to update you on the success of our first
Firestarters Course we completed in December of 2010.

We had 16 people who completed the course and an amazing time together.
The momentum grew from day one and there was such a sense of expectation
as we gathered each week.
We prayed for each person as they came through the door (Bethel style!)
and often many of them would begin to engage with or be overwhelmed by the
Presence of God even as we were meeting for refreshments!

A number of people were physically healed during the course and two of our
women particularly got the Treasure Hunting ‘bug’ and have been going out
into the City together regularly ever since. They have had some amazing
encounters with people. On one occasion they felt the Lord was showing
them to go to the railway station platform to meet someone there. It’s not
possible to get on the platform without a rail ticket these days so they
asked a rail worker if they could go through the barrier. When he asked
them why, they said they were going to meet someone and when he asked who,
they just said “This might sound strange, but God has told us we are going
to meet someone on the platform” and he replied “Oh, come on through
then!” A story began to unfold based on the clues they were given and they
ended up ministering openly to a young woman who was working in the
platform cafe!!!!! She wasn’t a believer but was totally blown away!

Several times on the course we didn’t make it to the questions at the end
because the Spirit began falling upon people as I was sharing the course
material and we decided to just run with what the Lord was doing rather
than discuss it! One evening ended up like a drinking party without the
booze, there was so much joy and laughter!!!!! and more importantly the
Presence of God was strong!

One of the interesting things is that several of the folk particularly
discovered their identity and have not been the same since. One lady wrote
this:

“One thing that has come out of this course – most unexpectedly for me -
has been that I have finally been able to grasp hold of my identity in
Christ!  I had no idea that it would happen, but……. having now
realised the purpose and plan that He Created me for I am not letting go
of it!  I will do my best to walk in my identity with dignity and
integrity to the end of my days, or until He Comes back to take us all
back to be with Him……

No one knows better than I do where I have come from and no one knows
better than me  how finally understanding and grasping hold of my identity
in Christ has changed my whole perspective on life!  My one desire is for
my Heavenly Father to be Proud of me, for Jesus to be Delighted in me and
The Holy Spirit to find me an able pupil to The Trinity’s Glory!  Most of
the preaching I have heard over twenty-six years, in a variety of
churches/denominations, has left me feeling that even as a child of God I
was something to be scraped off His Shoe, that I might just squeeze
through the door of Heaven!  That somehow I would never make the mark….

God Preserve me from becoming puffed up and conceited but over the past
three weeks, or so, my whole perspective of myself has changed since
finally understanding who I am and why God Created me for such a time as
this!

It’s been a great time and I know was born to host and multiply courses
like this! Thanks so much for writing the material, I/we believe in it
passionately, and it is taylor-made for the journey we have been on since
John Wimber’s visit to the UK in 1983!

We are running the next one beginning this February, have another one
scheduled for September and have been asked to lead courses in two
neighbouring towns where we have churches meeting in homes. I’m even
looking at the possibility of providing a Skype link for small groups who
can’t make it to the actual course because they are having to travel a
distance to get there and wouldn’t make it on time! I hope that’s ok with
you, maybe you could let me know what you think! I guess we need to order
a few more manuals!!!!! ;0) I’ll be in touch with Anne about it.
