A young woman brought her sister, who was visiting from Sweden, on one of our Treasure Hunts here at Bethel Church, in Redding, California. The Treasure Hunters filled in their Treasure Maps, as the Holy Spirit gave each one of them clues of the Treasures they were to find that day.
The sister from Sweden contributed clues that led the team to an art studio in downtown Redding. As they began to minister to the owners of the studio, it was apparent that the couple fit the description of several of the clues listed on the Treasure Hunters maps, including the sister’s from Sweden. Even more interesting, the couple are members at our church, and former pastors in the area.
After ten minutes into the conversation, the husband broke into the conversation, saying, “This might seem a little strange. I don’t know any of you, but I feel like someone on your Treasure Hunt team needs to be saved.”
With that, the sister from Sweden responded, “That would be me. I just came on this Treasure Hunt because my sister invited me. I can see now how that God must have a good plan and purpose for my life.” The husband then led her to Christ, to the shock and amazement of the rest of the Treasure Hunt team who had all just assumed that she had been a believer!
The amazing thing about this testimony is that she actually got words of knowledge that led her to the person who would lead her to Christ. That is a first for me! We serve a creative God, who is able to position us in the right place at the right time.
That is so good and so God! What a beautiful nature He has…. and He is truly pouring out His Spirit on all flesh! Thanks for sharing this – really blessed me.
God is sooooooo cool!!!!
I held the treasure that Dan, a new friend I have made, found from a treasure hunt he was part of two weeks previous. He was given by the Spirit to know that his clues were not for that day, but that by and by the Lord would reveal to him what to do.
Within a couple of days Dan passed by Elm Street and located the bus stop. As he rose another morning, He asked the Lord what he wanted him to do. He was told to go pray at the treasure location. He came by the Holy Spirit to my neighborhood where there are many kids at risk. I saw him at Main and Elm as I was on my way to my kids’ school to do lunch room duty. He was walking toward my house. Dan didn’t know at that time where I lived.
I pulled up in my van as I passed him and asked what he was doing. He said the Lord had instructed him to come to Elm and Main Street and pray for what he didn’t know.
I told him of a rumble that had occurred two weeks prior where a dozen neighborhood kids had been rounded up by the police after they followed the fight through the streets.
His clues were Elm Street, bus stop, and the name Cindy. After hearing my story, he did pray there and went home. He said later he discerned that the name Cindy was not an actual person to look for, but stood for Cinderella and represented all the youth in our community who like Cinderella are devalued and living in ashes, and the Lord wants to show them who they are as his royal sons and daughters.
Since this happened I have been hearing more about treasure hunts and I went on line to find out more. I found your book and ordered 6 copies. Have read it and am sharing the extra copies next week with my Christian book club.
Is there a chance that you might be able to come to the K.C. area to do a book signing event? I live in Independence, an area rich in churches of all types. I have a number of friends in several different fellowships. We are all Kingdom focused and are laying aside our various differences to come together under the banner of Christ in his work of finding his lost ones.
Please pray about coming. I feel like the man Paul saw in vision recorded in Acts 16, in which he prayed for Paul to come to Macedonia.
